Is Your School Website Ready For The Summer Break?

Published on 29/05/15

As the last half term of this school year ends, it’s starting to dawn on us that it’s getting very close to the summer holidays. Is your school website ready for the 6-week break? In this blog we’ll take a look at how you can prepare your site, ready for the new academic year.

  1. Update events for September. The start of the year can be a pretty busy time, especially for year sevens. Ensuring your school calendar on your website displays important events for the first few weeks can make sure every one is in the right place at the right time.
  2. Review your important information pages. Do you have school procedures or different activities each day? It could be useful for new students to know about important information, so posting it to your home page – or sharing it in a news story – could really help your new starters.
  3. Create a new welcome note. One of the first things noticed on your website can be your welcome from the headteacher. Updating it for the new school year can help signpost upcoming events and a new vision for the upcoming academic year.
